At BMA, we always encourage our students to take advantage of the performance opportunities that we create throughout the year. Performing is a great way for students - both beginner and advanced - to have the chance to sharpen their playing abilities, set goals and develop confidence as an individual and on stage.

Recitals

We host two major recitals each year, in December and June. Performance is completely voluntary, though strongly encouraged, even for young beginners.

Our recitals take place at the Cedarview Alliance Theatre here in Barrhaven. A state-of-the-art auditorium with professional sound and lighting equipment, a beautiful grand piano and seating for over 700 guests!

Coffeehouses & Fundraisers

Along with our biannual recitals, we enjoy hosting regular coffeehouses at The Heart & Crown during the year in support of a local charities.

Coffeehouses, which are smaller in venue and audience size then our concerts, give students the opportunity to gain performance experience in a more intimate setting and often have the opportunity to showcase two or three of their favourite songs!
